Planning Group Manager
We’re excited to offer a leadership opportunity for a Planning Group Manager based in our Raleigh office. This senior-level role requires minimal supervision and is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of the project development process who thrives in an independent work environment.

As a Planning Group Manager, you’ll take the lead on planning initiatives, contribute to the strategic growth of our practice area, and guide a talented team through complex, high-impact projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients and play a key role in shaping the future of our planning efforts for Benesch.

Location
This will be a hybrid position with primary office in Raleigh. The position will consist of multiple in-office days in Benesch offices. Other days may be worked remotely.

The Impact You Will Have

Participate or lead planning projects for a variety of public agency clients in the North Carolina market

Prepare, review, and oversee quality control/assurance for project deliverables

Serve as a liaison with key clients to coordinate Benesch projects and assist in project delivery

Mentor, guide, and develop staff

Contribute to business development activities such as developing project teams, leading pursuit strategies, and proposal writing

What We Are Looking For

20+ years of industry experience; 10+ years in a similar role

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, Engineering, or related field

Strong understanding of transportation planning concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience managing multimodal transportation projects is preferred

General project management experience including project staffing, budgeting/cost control, schedule adherence, and quality control

Knowledge of NCDOT, FHWA and USADOT regulations, policies, and procedures, and/or agency experience a plus

Strong technical, communication, and writing skills

Ability to identify business needs and opportunities and effectively forge client and teaming relationships

Expertise with Microsoft Office suite

Strong public engagement and industry relations communication skill set
