Title: Accounting Supervisor
Location: Burlington, MA (3 days/week in office)
Salary: $95,000-$105,000

The Accounting Supervisor’s Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

  • Oversee day to day accounting operations including accounts payable, bank transactions, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balances to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review quarterly and year end financial statements in accordance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance industry regulations and support all statutory reporting requirements, including state filings.
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of year end audit materials and support external auditors as needed.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to enhance processes and department efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting staff, including performance feedback and goal setting.
  • Partner cross functionally with other departments to support company standards and finance related initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Five plus years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; exposure to statutory accounting principles is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with month end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
