About MODUS21: MODUS21 is a Charleston-based business and technology consulting firm specializing in solving complex business problems for global business and government clients. We streamline, measure, and improve business processes through business intelligence and architecture, helping organizations align strategy and objectives with technology execution. Mission: Support the US Navy Financial Management Systems Data & Digital Transformation team to establish FM data interoperability requirements within the Department of the Navy (DON), ensuring financial management data is visible, accessible, understandable, linked, trustworthy, interoperable, and secure. Key Responsibilities: • Design, architect, and deploy scalable AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK
• Configure and optimize AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, VPC)
• Implement security best practices including IAM roles, security groups, and encryption
• Develop automation scripts in JSON/YAML for Lambda functions
• Set up monitoring and alerting using AWS CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray
• Build CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild
• Conduct peer code reviews and provide technical documentation
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and application performance issues Required Qualifications: • US Citizenship required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years cloud engineering experience (2+ years AWS focus)
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services and IaC tools
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, YAML, JSON, SQL, PowerShell
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of networking concepts and CI/CD tools Certifications Preferred: • AWS Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer
