Portfolio Operations Analyst (Investment Management)

Location: Boston – Financial District
Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Duration: 1 year contract
Experience Level: 2-4 years

Responsibilities

Account Reconciliation & Oversight



  • Reconcile portfolio holdings, trading activity, and cash balances with custodian bank statements

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reviews to ensure data integrity


Cash Management & Reconciliation



  • Reconcile currency balances between internal systems and custodian statements

  • Monitor currency accounts to prevent overdrafts and initiate corrective actions

  • Coordinate with custodians to resolve cash reporting issues


Reporting & Data Validation



  • Support month-end close processes and ensure accurate accounting data

  • Assist in preparing client and internal reports across various timeframes

  • Collaborate with Finance and Compliance teams to ensure reporting standards are met


Trade Support & Settlement



  • Work closely with the Trade Settlement team to facilitate timely and accurate trade and FX settlements

  • Monitor trade lifecycle events and ensure proper booking and confirmation


Custodian Relationship Management



  • Serve as a key point of contact for custodians, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution

  • Maintain documentation and service-level standards for custodian interactions



Qualifications


  • 2 years of experience in investment operations or portfolio accounting

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and reconciliation processes

  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with portfolio management systems (Bloomberg, Eagle, Advent, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
